The Adult Education Centre at the Study Centre provides adult learners with a space to enjoy, learn and grow in confidence.
Often returning to the classroom can be an exceptionally daunting task, within the Study Centre we offer beginner, intermediate and advanced level courses in a large number of disciplines, that aim to ease even the most reluctant and self conscious learner into the remit of education.
We provide a friendly atmosphere, a good cup of tea and an answer to all of your questions until you feel confident in your understanding of the topic. We have a no exam and no stress approach with every student achieving their own level of success.
English as a Second Language
Our English language course is an 8 week programme taking individuals through both grammar and spoken English. This is a beginner level course.
This 8-week course covers a host of essential skills that are required for busy offices or administration fields.
This course consists of One 2-hour class per week for a duration of 8 weeks.
This Office Administration Skills course will offer you the essential skillset in working in any office environment and carry out your day-to-day tasks with ease and confidence.
This 5 week course offers one x 1 hour class per week and is designed to offer technology classes for those who struggle with the ever demanding world of computers.
This course will highlight the importance of digital literacy and encourage & support individuals of all ages in developing these skills. By working to bridge this divide .
8 week course covering the main aspects of Microsoft Excel One 2 hour class per week.
Candidates will be able to use Microsoft Excel to create and work with spreadsheets. You will also learn to manage workbooks & worksheets, apply formatting styles to numbers, dates etc as well as understand key Formulas & Functions.
After completing this course, you will feel confident entering, moving, editing, and deleting data, as well as performing common spreadsheet tasks such as functions & formulas, charts & tables.
Our furniture upholstery course is a one day course, providing learners with the knowledge and skills to reupholster chairs. This is a hands on course that allows individuals to try upholstery and design throughout the day.
